23 Therefore anon as Joseph came to his brethren, they despoiled him of his coat, (that went) down to the heel, and (was) of many colours, (And so when Joseph came to his brothers, at once they tore off the coat, that went down to his heels, and had many colours,)
24 and they put him in[to] an eld cistern, that had no water.
25 And (then) they sat (down) to eat bread; and (soon) they saw that (some) Ishmaelite waygoers came from Gilead, and that their camels bare sweet smelling spiceries, and resin, and stacte, into Egypt (to take to Egypt).

23 So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they (A)stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him. 24 Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.
25 (B)And they sat down to eat a meal. Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of (C)Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, (D)balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt.

25 Then they sat down to eat. And looking up they saw a (C)caravan of (D)Ishmaelites coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing (E)gum, balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry it down to Egypt.
