6 Esau took his wives, sons, daughters, and all the people of his household, as well as his herds, all his livestock, and all the property he had acquired in Canaan; he went to a land away from his brother Jacob. 7 For their possessions were too many for them to live together,(A) and because of their herds, the land where they stayed could not support them.(B) 8 So Esau (that is, Edom) lived in the mountains of Seir.(C)

6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob. 7 (A)For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and (B)the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock. 8 So Esau dwelt in (C)Mount Seir. (D)Esau is Edom.
