¹⁰ God said to him, “Your name is Jacob,^[a] but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.^[b]”^(A) So he named him Israel.

⁴ Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.

²⁵ The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ)^(A) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
