30 So Jacob named the place [a]Peniel, for he said, “(A)I have seen God face to face, yet my [b]life has been [c]spared.”
31 Now the sun rose upon him just as he crossed over (A)Penuel, and he was limping on his hip.
8 Then he went up from there to [a](A)Penuel and spoke similarly to them; and the men of Penuel answered him just as the men of Succoth had answered.
17 (A)And he tore down the tower of Penuel and killed the men of the city.
