¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, ^(A)a ^[a]virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name ^[b](B)Immanuel.

Conception and Birth of Jesus

¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus ^[a]Christ was as follows: when His ^(A)mother Mary had been ^[b]betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was ^(B)found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. ¹⁹ And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned ^[c](C)to send her away secretly. ²⁰ But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “^(D)Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for ^[d]the Child who has been ^[e]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. ²¹ She will bear a Son; and ^(E)you shall call His name Jesus, for ^[f]He ^(F)will save His people from their sins.” ²² Now all this ^[g]took place to fulfill what was ^(G)spoken by the Lord through the prophet: ²³ “^(H)Behold, the virgin shall be with ^(I)child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name ^[h]Immanuel,” which translated means, “^(J)God with us.” ²⁴ And Joseph ^[i]awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, ^25 [j]but kept her a virgin until she ^(K)gave birth to a Son; and ^(L)he called His name Jesus.

⁶ He is not here, for He has risen, ^(A)just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

⁷ Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you ^(A)into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

⁶ And he *said to them, “^(A)Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the ^(B)Nazarene, who has been crucified. ^(C)He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.

¹⁹ So then, when the Lord Jesus had ^(A)spoken to them, He ^(B)was received up into heaven and ^(C)sat down at the right hand of God.

³⁵ The angel answered and said to her, “^(A)The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of ^(B)the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason ^(C)the ^[a]holy Child shall be called ^(D)the Son of God.

² And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, ³ but when they entered, they did not find the body of ^(A)the Lord Jesus. ⁴ While they were perplexed about this, behold, ^(B)two men suddenly ^(C)stood near them in dazzling clothing; ⁵ and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but He ^(D)has ^[a]risen. Remember how He spoke to you ^(E)while He was still in Galilee,
