¹³ Yahweh was standing there beside him,^[a] saying, “I am Yahweh,^(A) the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your offspring the land that you are now sleeping on.

⁴² If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, certainly now you would have sent me off empty-handed. But God has seen my affliction and my hard work,^[a] and He issued His verdict last night.”

⁵³ The God of Abraham, and the gods^(A) of Nahor—the gods of their father^[a]—will judge between us.” And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.
