20 When Isaac was 40 years old, he married Rebekah. Rebekah was from Northwest Mesopotamia. She was Bethuel’s daughter and the sister of Laban the Aramean. 21 Isaac’s wife could not have children. So Isaac prayed to the Lord for her. The Lord heard Isaac’s prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant.
22 While she was pregnant, the babies struggled inside her. She asked, “Why is this happening to me?” Then she went to get an answer from the Lord.

20 and Isaac was forty years old(A) when he married Rebekah(B) daughter of Bethuel(C) the Aramean from Paddan Aram[a](D) and sister of Laban(E) the Aramean.(F)
21 Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless.(G) The Lord answered his prayer,(H) and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. 22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.(I)
