⁴² “I came today to the spring and said, ^(A)‘O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if now you ^(B)are prospering the way that I go, ⁴³ behold, I am standing ^(C)by the spring of water. Let the virgin who comes out to draw water, to whom I shall say, “Please give me a little water from your jar to drink,”

⁵ Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, “Stand up and bless the Lord your God from everlasting to everlasting. ^(A)Blessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

²⁵ And whenever ^(A)you stand praying, ^(B)forgive, ^(C)if you have anything against anyone, so that ^(D)your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”^[a]

¹³ But the tax collector, ^(A)standing far off, ^(B)would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but ^(C)beat his breast, saying, ‘God, ^(D)be merciful to me, a sinner!’
