³⁷Pinapanumpa ako ng aking panginoon, na sinasabi, ‘Huwag mong ikukuha ng asawa ang aking anak sa mga anak na babae ng mga Cananeo na siyang lupaing aking tinitirhan;

³⁸kundi pumunta ka sa bahay ng aking ama at sa aking mga kamag-anak at ikuha mo roon ng asawa ang aking anak.’

³⁹Kaya't sinabi ko sa aking panginoon, ‘Baka hindi sumama sa akin ang babae!’

³⁷And my master made me swear an oath,^(A) and said, ‘You must not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,^(B) ³⁸but go to my father’s family and to my own clan, and get a wife for my son.’^(C)

³⁹“Then I asked my master, ‘What if the woman will not come back with me?’^(D)
