¹² Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham,^(A) make me successful^(B) today, and show kindness^(C) to my master Abraham.

³ The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?”

Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan;^(A) he is lame^(B) in both feet.”

²² Consider therefore the kindness^(A) and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue^(B) in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.^(C)
