²¹ So the Lord God caused a ^(A)deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. ²² And the Lord God ^[a]fashioned into a woman ^(B)the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. ²³ Then the man said,

¹³ And this is ^[a]another thing you do: you cover the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and sighing, because He ^(A)no longer gives attention to the ^[b]offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. ¹⁴ Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the ^(B)wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt ^(C)treacherously, though she is your marriage companion and your wife by covenant. ^15 [c]But not one has ^(D)done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And ^[d]why the one? He was seeking a ^(E)godly offspring. Be careful then about your spirit, and see that none of you deals ^(F)treacherously against the wife of your youth.

^32 (A)but I say to you that everyone who ^[a]divorces his wife, except for the reason of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a ^[b]divorced woman commits adultery.

¹¹ But He said to them, “^(A)Not all men can accept this statement, but ^(B)only those to whom it has been given. ¹² For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by people; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept this, let him accept it.”

¹¹ And He *said to them, “^(A)Whoever ^[a]divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; ¹² and ^(B)if she herself ^[b]divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.”

¹⁸ “^(A)Everyone who ^[a]divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is ^[b]divorced from a husband commits adultery.
