²⁴ Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur^(A) on Sodom and Gomorrah^(B)—from the Lord out of the heavens.^(C)

²⁵ Thus he overthrew those cities^(A) and the entire plain,^(B) destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.^(C)

⁴⁹ “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom:^(A) She and her daughters were arrogant,^(B) overfed and unconcerned;^(C) they did not help the poor and needy.^(D)

⁵⁰ They were haughty^(A) and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.^(B)
