²³ So Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him.

⁴ Then Abraham ^(A)circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, ^(B)as God had commanded him.

³ And on the ^(A)eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

² At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make ^(A)flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.”

⁵ For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.

⁷ Then Joshua circumcised ^(A)their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.

^22 (A)Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, ^(B)but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

^8 (A)Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; ^(B)and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; ^(C)and Isaac begot Jacob, and ^(D)Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.

¹¹ And ^(A)he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that ^(B)he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,
