Genesis 16:2-4
Common English Bible
2 Sarai said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from giving birth, so go to my servant. Maybe she will provide me with children.” Abram did just as Sarai said. 3 After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram’s wife Sarai took her Egyptian servant Hagar and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she became pregnant. But when she realized that she was pregnant, she no longer respected her mistress.

New International Version
2 so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children.(A) Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.”(B)
Abram agreed to what Sarai said. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan(C) ten years,(D) Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar,(E) and she conceived.
When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.(F)
