Genesis 15:17-18

17 Now it came about, when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch appeared which (A)passed between these pieces. 18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,
“(B)To your [a]descendants I have given this land,
From (C)the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:

17 When the sun had gone down and a [deep] darkness had come, there appeared a smoking [a]brazier and a flaming torch which passed between the [divided] pieces [of the animals].(A) 18 On the same day the Lord made a covenant (promise, pledge) with Abram, saying,
“To your descendants I have given this land,
From the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates—
