Abram Promised a Son
15 After these things (A)the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,
2 But Abram said, “Lord [b]God, what will You give me, since I [c]am childless, and the [d]heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 Abram also said, “[e]Since You have given me no [f]son, [g]one who has been (E)born in my house is my heir.” 4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; (F)but one who will come from your own [h]body shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and (G)count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “(H)So shall your [i]descendants be.” 6 (I)Then he believed in the Lord; and He [j]credited it to him as righteousness. 7 And He said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of (J)Ur of the Chaldeans, to (K)give you this land to [k]possess it.” 8 But he said, “Lord [l]God, (L)how may I know that I will [m]possess it?” 9 So He said to him, “[n]Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” 10 Then he [o]brought all these to Him and (M)cut them [p]in two, and laid each half opposite the other; but he (N)did not cut the birds. 11 And birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away.
12 Now when the sun was going down, (O)a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, [q]terror and great darkness fell upon him. 13 Then God said to Abram, “Know for certain that (P)your [r]descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, [s]where (Q)they will be enslaved and oppressed for (R)four hundred years. 14 But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out (S)with [t]many possessions. 15 As for you, (T)you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age. 16 Then in (U)the fourth generation they will return here, for (V)the wrongdoing of the Amorite is not yet complete.”
17 Now it came about, when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch appeared which (W)passed between these pieces. 18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,
“(X)To your [u]descendants I have given this land,
From (Y)the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:
19 (Z)the land of the Kenite, the Kenizzite, the Kadmonite, 20 the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.”

15 这些事以后，耶和华在异象中对亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不用害怕，我是你的盾牌，我要大大赏赐你。” 2 亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐我什么呢？我没有儿子，继承我家业的人是大马士革人以利以谢。” 3 亚伯兰又说：“你没有赐我儿子，我家中的仆人将继承我的产业。” 4 耶和华又对他说：“这人不会成为你的继承人，你亲生的儿子才是你的继承人。” 5 耶和华把亚伯兰带到外面，对他说：“你抬头看看天空，数数繁星，你能数得尽吗？你的后裔必这么多。” 6 亚伯兰信耶和华，耶和华便算他为义人。
7 耶和华又对他说：“我是耶和华，我带你离开了迦勒底的吾珥，为要把这片土地赐给你。” 8 亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我怎么知道我会得到这片土地呢？” 9 耶和华说：“你要给我预备三岁的母牛、母山羊和公绵羊各一头，斑鸠和雏鸽各一只。” 10 亚伯兰一一照办，把牲畜都劈成两半，一半对着一半地摆列，但没有劈开雀鸟。 11 有鸷鸟飞到那些尸体上，亚伯兰赶走了它们。
12 太阳下山的时候，亚伯兰睡得很沉，忽然有可怕的黑暗笼罩着他。 13 耶和华对他说：“你要清楚知道，你的后裔必流落异乡，被奴役、虐待四百年。 14 但我必惩罚奴役他们的国家，之后他们必带着大量的财物离开那里。 15 而你必享长寿，安然离世。 16 到了第四代[a]，你的子孙必重回此地，因为亚摩利人现在还没有恶贯满盈。”
17 太阳下山后，大地黑暗，突然有冒烟的火炉和点着的火炬在肉块中经过。 18 就在那天，耶和华跟亚伯兰立约，说：“我必将这片土地赐给你的后代，使他们得到从埃及河到幼发拉底河一带的土地， 19 就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、 20 赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、 21 亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人和耶布斯人的土地。”

15 这 事 以 後 ， 耶 和 华 在 异 象 中 有 话 对 亚 伯 兰 说 ： 亚 伯 兰 ， 你 不 要 惧 怕 ！ 我 是 你 的 盾 牌 ， 必 大 大 的 赏 赐 你 。
2 亚 伯 兰 说 ： 主 耶 和 华 阿 ， 我 既 无 子 ， 你 还 赐 我 甚 麽 呢 ？ 并 且 要 承 受 我 家 业 的 是 大 马 色 人 以 利 以 谢 。
3 亚 伯 兰 又 说 ： 你 没 有 给 我 儿 子 ； 那 生 在 我 家 中 的 人 就 是 我 的 後 嗣 。
4 耶 和 华 又 有 话 对 他 说 ： 这 人 必 不 成 为 你 的 後 嗣 ； 你 本 身 所 生 的 才 成 为 你 的 後 嗣 。
5 於 是 领 他 走 到 外 边 ， 说 ： 你 向 天 观 看 ， 数 算 众 星 ， 能 数 得 过 来 麽 ？ 又 对 他 说 ： 你 的 後 裔 将 要 如 此 。
6 亚 伯 兰 信 耶 和 华 ， 耶 和 华 就 以 此 为 他 的 义 。
7 耶 和 华 又 对 他 说 ： 我 是 耶 和 华 ， 曾 领 你 出 了 迦 勒 底 的 吾 珥 ， 为 要 将 这 地 赐 你 为 业 。
8 亚 伯 兰 说 ： 主 耶 和 华 阿 ， 我 怎 能 知 道 必 得 这 地 为 业 呢 ？
9 他 说 ： 你 为 我 取 一 只 三 年 的 母 牛 ， 一 只 三 年 的 母 山 羊 ， 一 只 三 年 的 公 绵 羊 ， 一 只 斑 鸠 ， 一 只 雏 鸽 。
10 亚 伯 兰 就 取 了 这 些 来 ， 每 样 劈 开 ， 分 成 两 半 ， 一 半 对 着 一 半 地 摆 列 ， 只 有 鸟 没 有 劈 开 。
11 有 鸷 鸟 下 来 ， 落 在 那 死 畜 的 肉 上 ， 亚 伯 兰 就 把 他 吓 飞 了 。
12 日 头 正 落 的 时 候 ， 亚 伯 兰 沉 沉 地 睡 了 ； 忽 然 有 惊 人 的 大 黑 暗 落 在 他 身 上 。
13 耶 和 华 对 亚 伯 兰 说 ： 你 要 的 确 知 道 ， 你 的 後 裔 必 寄 居 别 人 的 地 ， 又 服 事 那 地 的 人 ； 那 地 的 人 要 苦 待 他 们 四 百 年 。
14 并 且 他 们 所 要 服 事 的 那 国 ， 我 要 惩 罚 ， 後 来 他 们 必 带 着 许 多 财 物 从 那 里 出 来 。
15 但 你 要 享 大 寿 数 ， 平 平 安 安 地 归 到 你 列 祖 那 里 ， 被 人 埋 葬 。
16 到 了 第 四 代 ， 他 们 必 回 到 此 地 ， 因 为 亚 摩 利 人 的 罪 孽 还 没 有 满 盈 。
17 日 落 天 黑 ， 不 料 有 冒 烟 的 炉 并 烧 着 的 火 把 从 那 些 肉 块 中 经 过 。
18 当 那 日 ， 耶 和 华 与 亚 伯 兰 立 约 ， 说 ： 我 已 赐 给 你 的 後 裔 ， 从 埃 及 河 直 到 伯 拉 大 河 之 地 ，
19 就 是 基 尼 人 、 基 尼 洗 人 、 甲 摩 尼 人 、
20 赫 人 、 比 利 洗 人 、 利 乏 音 人 、
21 亚 摩 利 人 、 迦 南 人 、 革 迦 撒 人 、 耶 布 斯 人 之 地 。
