^2 (A)But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, ^(B)seeing I ^[a]go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” ³ Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed ^(C)one^[b] born in my house is my heir!”

⁴ And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who ^(D)will come from your own body shall be your heir.” ⁵ Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and ^(E)count the ^(F)stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, ^(G)“So shall your ^(H)descendants be.”

⁶ And he ^(I)believed in the Lord, and He ^(J)accounted it to him for righteousness.

Greeting

1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, ^(A)called to be an apostle, ^(B)separated to the gospel of God ^2 (C)which He promised before ^(D)through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, ³ concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who ^[a]was ^(E)born of the seed of David according to the flesh, ⁴ and ^(F)declared to be the Son of God with power according ^(G)to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

²⁴ But He answered and said, ^(A)“I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

A New Covenant

³¹ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
