Abram en Lot gaan hun eigen weg
13 Zo verlieten zij Egypte en trokken weer noordwaarts naar de Negev: Abram, zijn vrouw, Lot en alles wat zij bezaten. 2 Abram had veel vee, zilver en goud. 3 Zij trokken net zo lang in noordelijke richting tot ze bij hun oude kamp tussen Betel en Ai kwamen. 4 Het altaar dat Abram daar had gebouwd, stond er nog en opnieuw aanbad Abram daar de naam van de Here.
5 Lot had net als Abram veel vee en tenten voor zichzelf en zijn dienaren. 6 Daarom konden zij niet bij elkaar blijven, want het land was niet groot genoeg voor al hun vee. 7 De herders van Abram en Lot kregen zelfs onderling ruzie, wat gevaarlijk was vanwege de vijandige Kanaänieten en Perizzieten die daar woonden.
8 Abram besprak het probleem met Lot. ‘Het is niet goed dat wij ruzie maken en dat onze herders met elkaar overhoop liggen,’ meende hij. ‘Wij zijn tenslotte familie! 9 Laten we daarom uit elkaar gaan, er is hier plaats genoeg. Als jij een stuk grond in het oosten kiest, ga ik naar het westen. Als jij een plaats in het westen kiest, ga ik naar het oosten.’ 10 Lot keek goed om zich heen en zag het vruchtbare gebied langs de rivier de Jordaan, met overal genoeg water. Voordat de Here Sodom en Gomorra vernietigde, leek het gebied tot Soar aan toe wel op de hof van Eden of het land Egypte. 11 Daarom koos Lot voor de Jordaanstreek in het oosten en trok er met zijn vee en zijn dienaren heen. Hij en Abram gingen uit elkaar. 12 Abram bleef in Kanaän en Lot vestigde zich in de steden van de Jordaanstreek in de buurt van de stad Sodom. 13 Maar de inwoners van dit gebied waren erg slecht en zondigden tegen de Here.
14,15 Nadat Lot was vertrokken, zei de Here tegen Abram: ‘Kijk zo ver u kunt naar alle kanten, want al dit land zal Ik u en uw nakomelingen geven. 16 Ik zal u zoveel nakomelingen geven dat ze, net als het stof van de aarde, niet kunnen worden geteld!
17 Doorkruis dit land in alle richtingen, dan zult u zien wat Ik u allemaal ga geven.’ 18 Abram sloeg zijn kamp op bij de eikenbossen van Mamre, in de buurt van Hebron en bouwde daar een altaar voor de Here.

Разделение Аврама и Лота
13 Аврам с женой и всем имуществом отправился из Египта в Негев, и Лот пошел с ним. 2 У Аврама теперь было много скота, серебра и золота. 3 Из Негева он продолжил путь, пока не пришел в Вефиль, к тому месту, где некогда стоял его шатер, между Вефилем и Гаем, 4 к тому месту, где он прежде построил жертвенник. Там Аврам призвал имя Господа.
5 У Лота, который кочевал с Аврамом, тоже были стада мелкого и крупного скота и шатры, 6 и земля не могла прокормить их обоих: у них было так много всего, что они не могли селиться вместе. 7 Между пастухами Аврама и пастухами Лота случился раздор. Хананеи и ферезеи жили тогда в той земле.
8 Тогда Аврам сказал Лоту:
– Пусть не будет раздора ни между тобой и мной, ни между твоими пастухами и моими, потому что мы родственники. 9 Не вся ли земля перед тобою? Давай разделимся: если ты пойдешь налево, то я поверну направо, а если ты пойдешь направо, то я поверну налево.
10 Лот посмотрел и увидел, что вся иорданская долина до самого Цоара хорошо орошается, как сад Господа[a], как земля египетская. Это было еще до того, как Господь разрушил Содом и Гоморру. 11 Лот выбрал себе всю долину Иордана и отправился на восток. Они разделились: 12 Аврам жил в земле Ханаанской, а Лот жил среди городов долины, поставив шатры невдалеке от Содома. 13 Жители Содома были нечестивы и тяжко грешили против Господа.
14 Господь сказал Авраму после того, как Лот отделился от него:
– Оглянись вокруг с того места, где ты сейчас. Посмотри на север и на юг, на восток и на запад. 15 Всю землю, которую ты видишь, Я дам тебе и твоему семени навеки. 16 Я сделаю твое потомство многочисленным, как земную пыль, так что если кто сможет пересчитать пылинки, то и твое потомство будет пересчитано. 17 Иди, пройди по этой земле вдоль и поперек, потому что Я дам ее тебе.
18 Аврам свернул шатры и направился жить невдалеке от дубравы Мамре в Хевроне. Он построил там жертвенник Господу.

13 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;
4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had make there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.
5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.
8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.
12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.
13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.
14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.
