Genesis 13:11-13

The Message

^10-11Lot looked. He saw the whole plain of the Jordan spread out, well watered (this was before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah), like God’s garden, like Egypt, and stretching all the way to Zoar. Lot took the whole plain of the Jordan. Lot set out to the east.

^11-12That’s how they came to part company, uncle and nephew. Abram settled in Canaan; Lot settled in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent near Sodom.

¹³The people of Sodom were evil—flagrant sinners against God.

Genesis 13:11-13

New International Version

¹¹So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: ¹²Abram lived in the land of Canaan,^(A) while Lot^(B) lived among the cities of the plain^(C) and pitched his tents near Sodom.^(D) ¹³Now the people of Sodom^(E) were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.^(F)

And they separated from each other. ¹²Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot ^(A)dwelt in the cities of the plain and ^(B)pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. ¹³But the men of Sodom ^(C)were exceedingly wicked and ^(D)sinful against the Lord.
