²⁶ Then God said, “Let ^(A)Us make ^(B)man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them ^(C)rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the ^[a]sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” ²⁷ God created man ^(D)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; ^(E)male and female He created them. ²⁸ God blessed them; and God said to them, “^(F)Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the ^[b]sky and over every living thing that ^[c]moves on the earth.”

²⁰ Now the man called his wife’s name ^[a](A)Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.

³⁴ A ^(A)new commandment I give to you, ^(B)that you love one another, ^(C)even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ^35 (D)By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Gentiles Hear Good News

^34 (A)Opening his mouth, Peter said:

“I most certainly understand now that ^(B)God is not one to show partiality,

²⁶ and ^(A)He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having ^(B)determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,

⁸ But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of ^(A)deadly poison. ⁹ With it we bless ^(B)our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, ^(C)who have been made in the likeness of God; ¹⁰ from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. ¹¹ Does a fountain send out from the same opening both ^[a]fresh and bitter water? ^12 (D)Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce ^[b]fresh.
