24 God said, ‘Different kinds of animals will now appear on the land. There will be farm animals and wild animals. There will also be other small animals that move along the ground. There will be many kinds of animals and each kind will be different.’[a]
And what God said happened.
25 God made the different kinds of wild animals and the different kinds of farm animals. He made all the different kinds of animals that move along the ground.
God looked at what he had made. He saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, ‘We will make humans so that they are very much like us.[b] They will rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky. They will rule over the farm animals. They will rule over the whole earth and all the animals that move along the ground.’

- 1:24 Farm animals are animals that usually live in a village or on a farm. People take care of them and they may use their milk or their meat as food.
- 1:26 When God speaks about himself as ‘us’, he is speaking as the three persons of God. They are God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. God was there as all three persons when he made the universe.

24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures(A) according to their kinds:(B) the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.(C) 25 God made the wild animals(D) according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds.(E) And God saw that it was good.(F)
26 Then God said, “Let us(G) make mankind(H) in our image,(I) in our likeness,(J) so that they may rule(K) over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky,(L) over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
