² Now the earth was formless and empty,^(A) darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.^(B)

²¹ So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water,^(A) according to their kinds. He also created every winged creature according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
