18 So Noah, along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, came out. 19 All wildlife, all livestock, every bird, and every creature that crawls on the earth came out of the ark by their groups.

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma,(A) He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground(B) because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth.(C) And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.(D)

22 As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, and day and night
will not cease.”(E)

18 So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.(A) 19 All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord(B) and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean(C) birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings(D) on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma(E) and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground(F) because of humans, even though[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.(G) And never again will I destroy(H) all living creatures,(I) as I have done.

22 “As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,(J)
cold and heat,
summer and winter,(K)
day and night
will never cease.”(L)
