14 (A)“Issachar is a strong donkey,
    crouching between the sheepfolds.[a]
15 He saw that a resting place was good,
    and that the land was pleasant,
so he bowed his shoulder to bear,
    and (B)became a servant at forced labor.

16 (C)“Dan shall (D)judge his people
    as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan (E)shall be a serpent in the way,
    a viper by the path,
that bites the horse's heels
    so that his rider falls backward.
18 I (F)wait for your salvation, O Lord.

19 (G)“Raiders shall raid (H)Gad,[b]
    but he shall raid at their heels.

20 (I)“Asher's food shall be rich,
    and he shall yield royal delicacies.

21 (J)“Naphtali is a doe let loose
    that bears beautiful fawns.[c]

22 “Joseph is (K)a fruitful bough,
    a fruitful bough by a spring;
    his branches run over the wall.[d]
23 The archers (L)bitterly attacked him,
    shot at him, and harassed him severely,
24 yet (M)his bow remained unmoved;
    his arms[e] were made agile
by the hands of the (N)Mighty One of Jacob

20 “Asher’s(O) food will be rich;(P)
    he will provide delicacies fit for a king.(Q)

21 “Naphtali(R) is a doe set free
    that bears beautiful fawns.[e](S)

22 “Joseph(T) is a fruitful vine,(U)
    a fruitful vine near a spring,
    whose branches(V) climb over a wall.[f]
23 With bitterness archers attacked him;(W)
    they shot at him with hostility.(X)
24 But his bow remained steady,(Y)
    his strong arms(Z) stayed[g] limber,
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,(AA)
    because of the Shepherd,(AB) the Rock of Israel,(AC)
