³⁹ So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made you know all of this, there is no one so ^(A)understanding and wise as you are. ^40 (B)You shall be over my house, and according to your ^[a]command all my people shall ^[b]do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” ⁴¹ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you ^(C)over all the land of Egypt.” ⁴² Then Pharaoh ^(D)removed his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand and clothed him in garments of fine linen and ^(E)put the gold necklace around his neck. ⁴³ And he had him ride in ^[c]his second chariot; and they called out before him, “^[d]Bow the knee!” And he set him over all the land of Egypt.

⁶ But if you declare the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me ^(A)gifts and a reward and great glory; therefore declare to me the dream and its interpretation.”

¹⁶ But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and ^[a]solve difficult problems. Now if you are able to read the writing and make its ^(A)interpretation known to me, you will be ^(B)clothed with purple and wear a necklace of gold around your neck, and you will rule with power as the ^[b]third ruler in the kingdom.”

²⁹ Then Belshazzar said the word, and they ^(A)clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now would be the ^[a]third powerful ruler in the kingdom.
