4 (A)Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And (B)the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; 5 but (C)for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So (D)Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.

4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions(A) from some of the firstborn of his flock.(B) The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,(C) 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
