11 Then Judah said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, ‘Remain a widow in your father’s house until my son Shelah grows up’—for he feared that he too would die, like his brothers. So Tamar went to live in her father’s house.
12 In course of time the wife of Judah, Shua’s daughter, died; when Judah’s time of mourning was over,[a] he went up to Timnah to his sheep-shearers, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite. 13 When Tamar was told, ‘Your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep’,

11 Judah then said to his daughter-in-law(A) Tamar,(B) “Live as a widow in your father’s household(C) until my son Shelah(D) grows up.”(E) For he thought, “He may die too, just like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s household.
12 After a long time Judah’s wife, the daughter of Shua,(F) died. When Judah had recovered from his grief, he went up to Timnah,(G) to the men who were shearing his sheep,(H) and his friend Hirah the Adullamite(I) went with him.
13 When Tamar(J) was told, “Your father-in-law is on his way to Timnah to shear his sheep,”(K)
