Genesis 38:11-13

11 Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, [a]Remain a widow in thy father’s house, till Shelah my son grow up (for he thought thus, Lest he die as well as his brethren,) So Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.
12 ¶ And in process of time also the daughter of Shua Judah’s wife died. Then Judah, when he [b]had left mourning, went up to his sheepshearers to Timnah, he, and his neighbor Hirah the Adullamite.
13 And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold, thy father-in-law goeth up to Timnath, to shear his sheep.

New International Version
11 Judah then said to his daughter-in-law(A) Tamar,(B) “Live as a widow in your father’s household(C) until my son Shelah(D) grows up.”(E) For he thought, “He may die too, just like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s household.
12 After a long time Judah’s wife, the daughter of Shua,(F) died. When Judah had recovered from his grief, he went up to Timnah,(G) to the men who were shearing his sheep,(H) and his friend Hirah the Adullamite(I) went with him.
13 When Tamar(J) was told, “Your father-in-law is on his way to Timnah to shear his sheep,”(K)
