33 He did recognize it and said, “My son’s tunic! An evil animal has devoured him! Joseph must be torn to pieces!” 34 Jacob tore his clothing and put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days. 35 All his sons got up along with all his daughters to console him, but he refused to be comforted. He said, “For I will go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” So his father kept weeping for him.

New International Version
33 He recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animal(A) has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces.”(B)
34 Then Jacob tore his clothes,(C) put on sackcloth(D) and mourned for his son many days.(E) 35 All his sons and daughters came to comfort him,(F) but he refused to be comforted.(G) “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son(H) in the grave.(I)” So his father wept for him.
