^11 (A)And his brothers were jealous of him, but his father ^(B)kept the saying in mind.

²⁸ Then some ^(A)Midianite traders passed by, so they pulled him up and lifted Joseph out of the pit and ^(B)sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for ^[a]twenty shekels of silver. Thus ^(C)they brought Joseph into Egypt.

^2 (A)And Yahweh was with Joseph, so he became a ^[a]successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.

²¹ But ^(A)Yahweh was with Joseph and ^[a]extended lovingkindness to him and ^(B)gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. ²² So the chief jailer ^(C)gave into the hand of Joseph all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was ^[b]the one who did it. ^23 (D)The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph’s hand because ^(E)Yahweh was with him; and whatever he did, ^(F)Yahweh made to succeed.

⁴ Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near to me.” And they came near. And he said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you ^(A)sold into Egypt.
