2 Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, the ruler of that land, saw Dinah. He took her and raped her. 3 Shechem fell in love with Dinah, and he spoke kindly to her. 4 He told his father, Hamor, “Please get this girl for me so I can marry her.”

2 When Shechem(A) son of Hamor(B) the Hivite,(C) the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and raped her.(D) 3 His heart was drawn to Dinah(E) daughter of Jacob;(F) he loved(G) the young woman and spoke tenderly(H) to her. 4 And Shechem said to his father Hamor, “Get me this girl as my wife.”(I)
