Genesis 32:29-31
Revised Standard Version
29 Then Jacob asked him, “Tell me, I pray, your name.” But he said, “Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him. 30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peni′el,[a] saying, “For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life is preserved.” 31 The sun rose upon him as he passed Penu′el, limping because of his thigh.

New International Version
29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”(A)
But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?”(B) Then he blessed(C) him there.
30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[a] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face,(D) and yet my life was spared.”
31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[b](E) and he was limping because of his hip.
