²⁶Then he said, “Let me go, for the day is breaking.” But Jacob said, “I will not let you go, unless you bless me.”^(A)

²⁶Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”^(A)

⁴⁴you have wrapped yourself with a cloud
so that no prayer can pass through.

⁴⁴You have covered yourself with a cloud^(A)
so that no prayer^(B) can get through.^(C)

⁷And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them?

⁷And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out^(A) to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
