⁵⁴Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain, and called his brethren to eat bread. And they ate bread and stayed all night on the mountain.

⁵⁴He offered a sacrifice^(A) there in the hill country and invited his relatives to a meal.^(B) After they had eaten, they spent the night there.

²And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.”

But the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ^(A)‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’
