⁵⁰ If you afflict my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, although no man is with us, see, ^(A)God is witness between ^[a]you and me.”

¹⁰ And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “^(A)Yahweh is ^[a]witness between us; surely we will do ^[b]as you have said.”

² Azariah the ^(A)son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, “You are ^(B)speaking a lie! Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, ‘You are not to enter Egypt to sojourn there’;

¹⁴ But you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because Yahweh has been a witness between you and the ^(A)wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt ^(B)treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

⁵ “Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the ^(A)sorcerers and against the ^(B)adulterers and against those who ^(C)swear falsely and against those who oppress the ^(D)wage earner in his wages, the ^(E)widow and the ^[a]orphan, and those who turn aside the ^(F)sojourner and do not ^[b]fear Me,” says Yahweh of hosts.
