³ Then the Lord said to Jacob, “^(A)Return to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and ^(B)I will be with you.”

¹² Now then go, and ^(A)I, even I, will be with your mouth, and ^(B)teach you what you are to say.”

¹⁵ You are to speak to him and ^(A)put the words in his mouth; and I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will teach you what you are to do.

¹⁴ And He said, “^(A)My presence shall go with you, and ^(B)I will give you rest.” ¹⁵ Then he said to Him, “^(C)If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. ¹⁶ For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that ^(D)we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the ^[a]earth?”

Joshua Is Commissioned

^23 (A)Then He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “^(B)Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and ^(C)I will be with you.”

^5 (A)No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; ^(B)I will not fail you or forsake you.
