Genesis 3:15-17

New King James Version

¹⁵And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between ^(A)your seed and ^(B)her Seed;
^(C)He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

¹⁶To the woman He said:

“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
^(D)In pain you shall bring forth children;
^(E)Your desire shall be ^[a]for your husband,
And he shall ^(F)rule over you.”

¹⁷Then to Adam He said, ^(G)“Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree ^(H)of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:

^(I)“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
^(J)In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.

“Cursed^(G) is the ground^(H) because of you;
through painful toil^(I) you will eat food from it
