³⁸ And Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father.” So Esau lifted his voice and ^(A)wept.

⁴ So it happened that when the angel of Yahweh spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voices and wept.

^23 (A)And the sons of Israel went up and wept before Yahweh until evening and ^(B)asked of Yahweh, saying, “Shall we again approach for battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin?” And Yahweh said, “Go up against him.”

²⁶ Then ^(A)all the sons of Israel and all the people went up and came to Bethel and wept; thus they remained there before Yahweh and fasted that day until evening. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

^2 (A)So the people came to Bethel and sat there before God until evening and lifted up their voices and wept ^[a]bitterly.

⁴ So David and the people who were with him ^(A)lifted their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.
