⁴⁰ Indeed, ^(A)I lift up My hand to heaven,
And say, as I live forever,
^41 (B)If I sharpen My ^[a]flashing sword,
And My hand takes hold on judgment,
^(C)I will render vengeance on My adversaries,
And I will repay those who hate Me.

⁸ Lord Yahweh has ^(A)sworn by Himself, Yahweh God of hosts has declared:
“I ^(B)abhor the lofty pride of Jacob
And hate his ^(C)citadels;
Therefore I will ^(D)deliver up the city as well as its fullness.”
