22 At that time (A)Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, (B)“God is with you in all that you do. 23 Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my descendants or with my posterity, but (C)as I have dealt kindly with you, so you will deal with me and with the land where you have sojourned.”

26 When Abimelech went to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath his adviser and (A)Phicol the commander of his army, 27 Isaac said to them, “Why have you come to me, seeing that you hate me and (B)have sent me away from you?” 28 They said, “We see plainly that the Lord has been with you. So we said, let there be a sworn pact between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you, 29 that you will do us no harm, just as we have not touched you and have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. (C)You are now the blessed of the Lord.”

26 Meanwhile, Abimelek had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his personal adviser and Phicol the commander of his forces.(A) 27 Isaac asked them, “Why have you come to me, since you were hostile to me and sent me away?(B)

28 They answered, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you;(C) so we said, ‘There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’—between us and you. Let us make a treaty(D) with you 29 that you will do us no harm,(E) just as we did not harm you but always treated you well and sent you away peacefully. And now you are blessed by the Lord.”(F)

27 And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

28 And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

29 That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the Lord.
