Genesis 2:22-24

²²And Yahweh God ^[a]fashioned ^(A)the rib, which He had taken from the man, into a woman, and He brought her to the man. ²³Then the man said,

“^(B)This one finally is bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
This one shall be called ^[b]Woman,
Because this one was taken out of ^[c]Man.”

²⁴^(C)Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

New International Version

²²Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib^[a]^(A) he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

²³The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;^(B)
she shall be called^(C) ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.^(D)”

²⁴That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united^(E) to his wife, and they become one flesh.^(F)
