Genesis 17:4-8
Good News Translation
4 “I make this covenant with you: I promise that you will be the ancestor of many nations. 5 (A)Your name will no longer be Abram, but Abraham,[a] because I am making you the ancestor of many nations. 6 I will give you many descendants, and some of them will be kings. You will have so many descendants that they will become nations.
7 (B)“I will keep my promise to you and to your descendants in future generations as an everlasting covenant. I will be your God and the God of your descendants. 8 (C)I will give to you and to your descendants this land in which you are now a foreigner. The whole land of Canaan will belong to your descendants forever, and I will be their God.”

4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you:(A) You will be the father of many nations.(B) 5 No longer will you be called Abram[a]; your name will be Abraham,[b](C) for I have made you a father of many nations.(D) 6 I will make you very fruitful;(E) I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.(F) 7 I will establish my covenant(G) as an everlasting covenant(H) between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God(I) and the God of your descendants after you.(J) 8 The whole land of Canaan,(K) where you now reside as a foreigner,(L) I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you;(M) and I will be their God.(N)”
