¹⁷ It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which ^(A)passed between these pieces.

^24 (A)Then fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

The Sin of Nadab and Abihu

10 Now ^(A)Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective ^(B)firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. ^2 (C)And fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.

²¹ Then the angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and ^(A)fire sprang up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of the Lord ^[a]vanished from his sight.

¹² Elijah replied to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

²⁶ Then David built an altar to the Lord there and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And he called to the Lord and ^(A)He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.

The Shekinah Glory

7 ^(A)Now when Solomon had finished praying, ^(B)fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

¹⁶ While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “^(A)The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
