¹³ Then God said to Abram, “Know for certain that ^(A)your seed will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, ^[a]and ^(B)they will be enslaved and mistreated ^(C)four hundred years.

¹⁶ Then in ^(A)the fourth generation they will return here, for ^(B)the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”

⁶ But ^(A)God spoke in this way, that his seed would be sojourners in a foreign land, and that they would ^[a]be enslaved and mistreated for four hundred years.

¹⁷ And what I am saying is this: the Law, which came ^(A)430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to abolish the promise.
