Abram Promised a Son

15 After these things ^(A)the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,

³ Then He said, “^(A)I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will ^(B)make you into a great nation there.

²⁰ However, Moses said to the people, “^(A)Do not be afraid; for God has come in order ^(B)to test you, and in order that ^(C)the fear of Him may ^[a]remain with you, so that you will not sin.”

¹⁵ and he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: This is what the Lord says to you: ‘^(A)Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for ^(B)the battle is not yours but God’s.

¹⁷ You need not fight in this battle; take your position, ^(A)stand and watch the salvation of the Lord in your behalf, Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow, go out to face them, ^(B)for the Lord is with you.”
