^7 (A)And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. Now ^(B)the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land at that time.

^8 (C)So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are relatives!

²⁰ the herdsmen of Gerar ^(A)quarreled with the herdsmen of Isaac, saying, “The water is ours!” So he named the well ^[a]Esek, because they argued with him.
