⁶ Though his loftiness ^(A)goes up to the heavens,
And his head touches the clouds,

¹² How you have ^(A)fallen from heaven,
O ^[a](B)star of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who have weakened the nations!
¹³ But you said in your heart,
‘I will ^(C)ascend to heaven;
I will ^(D)raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
¹⁴ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
^(E)I will make myself like the Most High.’

¹⁶ As for the terror of you,
The arrogance of your heart has deceived you,
O you who dwell in the clefts of ^[a]the ^(A)rock,
Who seize the height of the hill.
Though you make your nest as ^(B)high as an eagle’s,
I will ^(C)bring you down from there,” declares Yahweh.

² Though they dig into ^(A)Sheol,
From there will My hand take them;
And though they ^(B)ascend to heaven,
From there will I bring them down.

⁴ Though you ^(A)build loftily like the eagle,
Though you set your nest among the ^(B)stars,
From there I will bring you down,” declares Yahweh.
