²² And God blessed them, saying, ^(A)“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

The Ten Commandments

5 And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the rules that I speak in your hearing today, and you shall learn them and be careful to do them. ^2 (A)The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. ^3 (B)Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today.

¹⁰ “You are standing today, all of you, before the Lord your God: the heads of your tribes,^[a] your elders, and your officers, all the men of Israel, ¹¹ your little ones, your wives, and the ^(A)sojourner who is in your camp, from ^(B)the one who chops your wood to the one who draws your water, ¹² so that you may enter into the ^(C)sworn covenant of the Lord your God, which the Lord your God is making with you today, ¹³ that he may ^(D)establish you today as his people, and that ^(E)he may be your God, as he promised you, and ^(F)as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. ¹⁴ It is not with you alone ^(G)that I am making this sworn covenant, ¹⁵ but with whoever is standing here with us today before the Lord our God, ^(H)and with whoever is not here with us today.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, ^(A)“All authority ^(B)in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ^19 (C)Go therefore and ^(D)make disciples of ^(E)all nations, ^(F)baptizing them ^(G)in^{[a] (H)}the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them ^(I)to observe all that ^(J)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(K)I am with you always, to ^(L)the end of the age.”

² For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but ^(A)not before God.
