Genesis 31:26-30

New International Version

²⁶Then Laban said to Jacob, “What have you done?^(A) You’ve deceived me,^(B) and you’ve carried off my daughters like captives in war.^(C) ²⁷Why did you run off secretly and deceive me? Why didn’t you tell me,^(D) so I could send you away with joy and singing to the music of timbrels^(E) and harps?^(F) ²⁸You didn’t even let me kiss my grandchildren and my daughters goodbye.^(G) You have done a foolish thing. ²⁹I have the power to harm you;^(H) but last night the God of your father^(I) said to me, ‘Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.’^(J) ³⁰Now you have gone off because you longed to return to your father’s household.^(K) But why did you steal^(L) my gods?^(M)”

²⁶Entonces Labán dijo a Jacob: «¿Qué has hecho, engañándome y^[a] llevándote a mis hijas como si fueran cautivas de guerra^[b]? ²⁷¿Por qué huiste en secreto y me engañaste^[c], y no me avisaste para que yo pudiera despedirte con alegría y cantos, con panderos^(A) y liras^(B)? ²⁸¿Por qué no me has permitido besar a mis hijos y a mis hijas^(C)? En esto^[d] has obrado neciamente. ²⁹Tengo poder para^[e] hacerte daño, pero anoche el Dios de tu^[f] padre^(D) me dijo: “De ningún modo hables a Jacob ni bien ni mal^(E)”. ³⁰Ahora, ciertamente te has marchado porque anhelabas mucho la casa de tu padre. Pero ¿por qué robaste mis dioses^(F)?».
