³⁵ All his sons and all his daughters ^(A)rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, “No, ^(B)I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.

³⁸ But he said, “My son shall not go down with you, for ^(A)his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. ^(B)If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, ^(C)you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.”

²⁹ If you ^(A)take this one also from me, ^(B)and harm happens to him, you will bring down my gray hairs in evil to Sheol.’
